(Ashland, Ore.) —Southern Oregon University will host its sixth annual Interactive Marketing and e-Commerce Panel on April 14. The panel, which is free and open to the public, features executives and managers from Fire Mountain Gems, Harry & David, Lithia Motors, and Griffin Creek Partners discussing the latest interactive marketing practices as well as employment opportunities in the field.
“Though the Interactive Marketing and e-Commerce Panel is organized with an emphasis on SOU students in related fields, it is certainly open to the public and we feel there are many in the community who may benefit from it,” said to Dr. Joan McBee, chair of SOU’s School of Business. “Small business owners and managers may be interested learning about the latest developments in interactive marketing and e-commerce.  They can also learn about what our students are doing to prepare for careers in this field.”
This year’s panel will feature Todd Bushman, Digital Sales Manager at Fire Mountain Gems; Catilin Ott, Digital Marketing Manager at Lithia Motors; Tiana Kai Madera, Social Media Specialist at Harry and David; and Michael Birkhead, Senior Partner at Griffin Creek Partners
“We really want to thank our community partners who make this annual event possible,” said Professor McBee. Anyone interested in learning more about SOU’s Certificate in Interactive Marketing and e-Commerce is encouraged to contact Dr. McBee at mcbeej@sou.edu.

(Ashland, Ore.) —Southern Oregon University will hold an Educator Job Fair on Saturday, April 2, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Rogue River Room inside the Stevenson Union on the University’s main Ashland campus. The fair is designed to provide an opportunity for schools and school districts across Oregon to meet and interact with SOU students and soon-to-be graduates regarding job opportunities within the field of education.
While created with SOU students in mind, the fair is open to anyone in the community who would like to learn more about employment opportunities in education that are available throughout the state.
“This is a great opportunity not only for our students and community members to see what is available in the field, but for those schools and districts with positions to fill to meet with a crop of soon-to-be graduates who are ready to go to work,” said April Harrison, an education faculty member at SOU and one of the organizers of the fair. “Our students who will be graduating this spring are very excited to get out into communities around the state and put their education and training to work!”
There is no charge for attendance to the fair.
