SOU’s MBA Program Stands Out in National Exam

(Ashland, Ore.) Masters in Business Administration (MBA) students at Southern Oregon University ranked in the top 25% on the MBA Major Field Test (MFT) administered recently at 130 universities in the United States.  Of the 16 SOU MBA students who took the test, three scored in the highest percentile rank category (95%) and two students scored in the 90th percentile rank.

“We always knew we had high quality students and an academically strong program,” says SOU School of Business Dean Raj Parikh. “The recent performance of our MBA students on a national test for MBAs confirms our beliefs. We are proud of our students and our faculty.”
The MBA MFT is the only comprehensive national assessment for MBA program evaluation of its kind. It consists of 124 questions, half of which are based on short case-study scenarios. Most of the questions require knowledge of specific information drawn from marketing, management, finance and managerial accounting, or a combination of all disciplines.
Southern Oregon University offers two MBA programs. The full-time program is weekday evenings at the SOU Ashland campus and can be completed in one calendar year. The part-time program is Saturdays at the RCC/SOU Higher Education Center in Medford and can be completed in 18-21 months.
Both MBA programs are holding open houses next week. The Wednesday, March 2, open house will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the lobby of Central Hall on the SOU Ashland campus, 1250 Siskiyou Boulevard. The Thursday, March 3, open house will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the lobby of the RCC/SOU Higher Education Center, 101 South Bartlett Street, Medford.
