Sometimes students know what they want to study and even what they want to be years down the road. Other students know where they want to study and work to make the rest fit together.

Listen to graduate student Adam Mashinchi tell how he came to SOU and how he took advantage of SOU’s greatest assets, place, close contact with professors, and wide variety of majors and minors.

Already a student at PSU, Adam decided to tour Oregon state’s public university campuses, starting with SOU.

“I wandered on to the campus and it was wonderful. And I knew in that moment I wanted to be at SOU. I knew in that moment for three reasons: the size of the school, the cost of the tuition, and the distance from home.”

Those three reasons formed the foundation of a success story that reminds us sometimes it’s better to not have everything planned out. Like any good script, it can be beneficial to begin with an outline and then fill in the blanks as it evolves.
