Laurie Kurutz publishes an article in Teaching Theatre journal

Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts Laurie Kurutz’s article “Patterning for Movement” has been published in the winter 2012 issue of Teaching Theatre journal. In this article, Kurutz discusses her method for constructing theatrical costumes with extra hidden gussets to aid the movement of the actors. This method is invaluable in allowing a wide range of movement during productions where the actors need to have extremely active movement.

Outdoor Program to Host “Radical Reels”

The SOU Outdoor Program, with the Rogue Valley Mountain Bike Association, will host one of only 50 stops on the Radical Reels Tour, presented by the Banff Centre. The Banff Centre, located near Banff National Park, has been dubbed “Canada’s creative leader in art and culture” and annually stages the Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival, which offers the year’s best mountain speakers, films and books.
