(Ashland, Ore.) Southern Oregon University announces the appointment of Kelly Moutsatson as director of admissions at the university. Moutsatson comes to SOU from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising with four campuses in California. She was the Institute’s director of admissions the last 12 years, working remotely from Grants Pass. She has a bachelor’s degree in advertising/marketing from Loyola Marymount University.
“Kelly has the right background for SOU admissions director,” says SOU Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Rick Weems. “As a Grants Pass resident, she’s familiar with the local region, and her recent experience recruiting for a Los Angeles college will help us increase our growing enrollment of California students. We’re very excited to have her join us at SOU.”
Prior to the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, Moutsatson was a teacher at Laurel Hall School in North Hollywood, Calif. Before that she was vice principal and teacher at Holy Redeemer School in Montrose, Calif.
“I believe in doing what you love, thus you will love what you’re doing,” says Moutsatson. “That is what makes a job worthwhile. Doing something worthwhile is what makes a difference, and that is what I hope to do at SOU … make a difference! I am thrilled to be a part of this university!”
